The Rossettis Return to Vasto
Pallazo d'Avalos, Vasto
A small loan exhibition in the ancestral city of Vasto, birthplace of Professor Gabriele Rossetti, in the Abruzzo region on the Adriatic coast of Italy, featuring Dante Gabriel, Christina, William and Maria Rossetti, and comprising paintings, drawings, prints, books and vintage photographs, including some original prints by Lewis Carroll, and pre-1900 examples of photo-reproduction.

Morris & Co. The World of William Morris
Christchurch Art Gallery, New Zealand
From March to June 1008, Christchurch Art Gallery will exhibit the largest collection of the world-famous Morris & Co. furnishings ever seen in New Zealand. Morris & Co.-–also the name of William Morris’s London firm--features more than 100 pieces, including furniture, carpets, tapestries, wallpapers, embroideries and tiles. The exhibition is accompanied by lectures, performances, a one-day conference (see below), mechandise, and an auxillary display of local fine printing inspired by the Kelmscott Press.

William Morris and the Art of Everyday Life
Christchurch Art Gallery, New Zealand
A one-day conference convened by the Australasian Victorian Studies Association and the University of Otago. This conference will explore the relationship between Morris and the art of everyday life – from the design of beautiful domestic interiors to his advocacy of a utopian socialism. Professor Florence Boos of the University of Iowa, distinguished Morris scholar and president of the William Morris Society in the United States, is the keynote speaker. Venue: Philip Carter Family Auditorium. $50, students and unwaged $25.
