TALKS, LECTURES, AND CONFERENCES

Sunday, 14 September 1996, 9.30am to 4.30pm
William Morris Symposium
This all-day symposium at Old Pathology Lecture Theatre, Melbourne University, is sponsored by Charles Radford Furnishings Pty Ltd. It coincides with an exhibition of Morris textiles, furnishings, and printing in the Melbourne University Gallery. Ann Galbally opens with a general introduction, followed by half-hour talks on the Kelmscott Press and the Baillieu Library (Merethe Smith), Morris and Paper (Rosie Fremantle), Morris and Australian Stained Glass (Geoff Down), Morris's Influence on Melbourne (Robyn Riddett), Morris and Embroidery Robyn Healy), Morris and Edward Poynter (Alison Inglis), Morris and Japan (Chaiki Ajioka), William Morris's Work Practices (Kim Andrews), Morris and the Environment (Sarah Wills). The cost is Australian $50.
