TALKS, LECTURES, AND CONFERENCES Saturday, 8 June 1996 William Morris Symposium The Siguròur Nordal Institute and the University of Iceland Library are organizing a Symposium on William Morris on the occasion of the centenary of his death. It will deal with Morris and his interest in Iceland and Old Icelandic literature, his saga translations, their influence on his own original writing, and his views on book design. Speakers include Dr. Andrew Wawn of Leeds University and Sveinn Haraldsson BA, winner of the Peter Floud Memorial Prize of the William Morris Society. An exhibition of Morris's work, including saga translations, an Iceland travel book, and correspondence with Icelanders, will run concurrently.
